MiCareerQuest™ East 2025 Inspires Over 2,100 Students to Explore High-Demand Careers
Flint, MI — MiCareerQuest™ East 2025 was a tremendous success, bringing together industry, education, and community partners to help shape the region’s future workforce. The event, held on October 22, 2025, welcomed 2,176 registered students from 52 school districts across the region for an interactive, hands-on career exploration experience at the Dort Event Center.
More than 265 industry professionals representing companies from across East Michigan participated in this year’s event, showcasing over 100 high-demand occupations in fields such as advanced manufacturing, construction, health sciences, information technology, automotive, skilled trades, agriculture, and more. Students were encouraged to “touch, feel, and experience” real equipment, tools, and technology—bringing careers to life in an engaging and memorable way.
“MiCareerQuest gives students an opportunity to see and hear about career pathway opportunities they may not have been exposed to before. The vendors and team ensure that the experience is both positive and rewarding for our students. It fills a gap for us in sharing multiple areas of exploration in a one-stop shop!” Diana Allard, Executive Director, Career and Technical Education at Genesee Intermediate School District
“MiCareerQuest is an awesome experience for our Michigan students! There are so many impactful vendors and career-related activities. I highly recommend that every school send their students to enjoy and learn at the MiCareerQuest event. It’s a high-level, top-notch opportunity for students.” – Lane Walker, C.T.E. Director/Principal, Huron Area Technical Center
The annual event is designed to help students:
- Discover career opportunities they may not have previously considered
- Understand the training and education needed for in-demand jobs
- Build early connections with local employers and post-secondary partners
- Gain confidence in making informed decisions about their future
This year’s MiCareerQuest East demonstrated the impact of experiential learning when employers, educators, and workforce partners come together with a shared vision for talent development.
“MiCareerQuest East is truly a collaborative effort,” noted Jessica Billiau, Chief Services Officer for GST Michigan Works! “The level of coordination and generosity from our employer partners, schools, volunteers, and sponsors shows just how committed our region is to preparing the next generation for success.”
Planning is already underway for MiCareerQuest™ East 2026, which is scheduled to take place on October 21, 2026, once again at the Dort Event Center in Flint.
