Fenton Attorney and Funeral Home Bring Timely Conversation to the Community: Planning for Life’s “In Between” Moments Before Crisis Hits
Fenton, MI — April 2026 — At a time when many families are juggling uncertainty, aging parents, and unexpected life events, local estate planning attorney Matthew Abraham is bringing an important and often neglected conversation to the forefront.
In collaboration with Sharp Funeral Homes, Abraham Law is hosting complimentary lunch and dinner seminars designed to help individuals and families prepare not just for what happens after life, but for the critical moments in between.
The event, taking place on April 28 at Ciao Italian Bistro and Wine Bar in downtown Fenton, focuses on a growing need in the community: helping people make informed decisions before a health crisis, accident, or loss forces them to handle difficulties unprepared and under pressure.
“Most families are not unprepared because they do not care,” said Abraham. “They are unprepared because they do not know where to start, or they believe they have more time. The reality is, life does not always give us that luxury.”
This seminar will provide much needed guidance. It will address real-life scenarios many families face but rarely plan for, including medical decision making, financial authority, and the emotional and logistical burdens placed on loved ones when plans are unclear or incomplete.
“A plan is a plan. Hope is not a plan,” Abraham added. “We see it every day. When families have clear instructions in place, everything changes. Stress is reduced, conflict is minimized, and loved ones are protected in a very real way.”
In addition to estate planning guidance, attendees will also gain insight into how advanced funeral planning can work alongside legal planning to create a more complete and thoughtful approach for families.
This event is part of a broader effort to break the stigma around conversations involving death and the realities families face during times of crisis. By creating a welcoming and educational environment, Abraham and Sharp aim to empower the community to take proactive steps rather than reactive ones.
Guests will enjoy a complimentary meal while gaining practical, easy-to-understand information. They can RSVP immediately or share with loved ones who have not yet begun the planning process.
