Kroger Grand Opens New Store In Fenton
80,000-Square-Foot Store Represents $28.5 Million Investment in the Community
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FENTON, MI (January 22, 2026) – The Kroger Michigan Division recently celebrated the grand opening of its brand-new store located at 15100 Silver Parkway in Fenton. Community leaders, associates, and local partners joined Kroger to recognize the opening of the 80,000-square-foot store, which represents a $28.5 million investment in the Fenton community and surrounding area.
Designed to deliver a modern, elevated shopping experience, the new Fenton location offers a wide assortment of fresh products and everyday essentials, with more than 35,000 items available for customers to shop. The store becomes Kroger’s 10th location in Genesee County.
Inside the store, customers will experience Kroger’s Fresh for Everyone™ décor package, designed to create a modern, welcoming, and customer-first shopping environment. The interior also features a wide range of specialty departments and services, including a Murray’s Cheese Shop, full-service deli, meat and seafood counters, and a bakery offering made-to-order cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. Additional amenities include a sushi counter, a walk-up and drive-thru pharmacy, and Kroger Pickup, giving customers even more convenient ways to shop.
“We are incredibly excited to officially join the Fenton community and open this brand-new store for customers and our associates,” said Ken DeLuca, President of the Kroger Michigan Division. “This location underscores our continued commitment to investing in Genesee County. We’ve designed the store with our customers in mind, and we cannot wait to be experience makers for families throughout the Fenton community.”
The opening of the new store reflected Kroger’s strong connection to the local community, with activities throughout the day including a meet-and-greet with Duncan Robinson of the Detroit Pistons, appearances from local mascots, and sampling from a variety of vendor partners throughout the store.
Building on that community focus, Kroger also demonstrated its commitment to supporting healthy, thriving neighborhoods through meaningful local investment. The company presented a $10,000 donation to the City of Fenton to support future community events and initiatives. In addition, Kroger partnered with the Cheez-It brand to support local education through its Extra Yard for Teachers program.
Through the program, Cheez-It provided funding for a $5,000 donation to Fenton Area Public Schools, with Kroger proudly matching that contribution – bringing the total donation to $10,000 to help support local students and educators.
“On behalf of the Fenton City Council and the residents of our community, I want to extend a warm welcome to Kroger and their team,” said Sue Osborn, Mayor of the City of Fenton. “We are excited to welcome a new grocery option to Fenton — one that brings new jobs, fresh food offerings, and added convenience and selection for our residents. We are thrilled to have Kroger join our community and look forward to the positive impact this investment will have on Fenton and the surrounding area.
We are also deeply grateful to Kroger for their generous $10,000 donation in support of future community events and initiatives. This contribution will allow the City of Fenton to host free, monthly events that bring residents together and create meaningful experiences for families throughout our community. These events will draw visitors from across Genesee County and neighboring areas, and we truly appreciate Kroger stepping into such an important community role. Their support means a great deal to us, and we are thankful for their continued commitment to our city.”
“Fenton Area Public Schools appreciates the support of Kroger and their partners as they join the Fenton community,” said Dr. Doug Busch, Superintendent of Fenton Area Public Schools. “This generous donation will help support our students and teachers across the district.”
Kroger’s investment in Fenton reflects the company’s broader commitment to Michigan communities through job creation, expanded access to fresh and affordable food, and strong community partnerships. The new store will employ local associates and provide customers with flexible shopping options, including in-store, Pickup, and personalized savings.
